ABout karla
HI, I’M KARLA AND I DON’T BELIEVE IN COINCIDENCES.

There’s a reason you’re here.
You’ve been sensing a shift—a desire to slow down, to breathe again, to live more intentionally.
Maybe you’re sitting at your desk or stuck in traffic, wondering if this is really the life God intended for you. You feel the tension deep in your soul: you’re grateful for your job, and yet your heart aches for more time at home—with your children, with your thoughts, with your God.
You’re wondering: Is it possible to leave the workforce? Is God calling me into something new?

I understand, because I’ve been there.
I know what it’s like to love your family deeply and still feel like you’re missing too much of their lives. To rush out the door every morning with a sinking feeling in your chest. To feel both guilty for wanting to be home and afraid of what stepping away might mean.
It’s exhausting to juggle it all—and lonely when no one else seems to understand the ache you carry.
I want you to know: you are not alone.
And you’re not crazy for wanting something different.
I’m proof that there is another way.

My Why
When I stepped away from the fast pace of my career, I discovered a deep sense of joy, peace, purpose, and true fulfillment. Now, I feel called to share what I’ve learned—to walk alongside other women who are yearning for more time with their families, craving clarity, and longing to live with intention. If that’s you, I’m so glad you’re here. I want to help you say yes to your home with courage and grace.
I’m excited to share how I was able to transition from the hustle of a 9-5 to a home-centered life and all the wonderful things I discovered when I said yes to my calling at home.

Longing to be Home
I remember what it felt like to rush out of the house half-ready, tearing myself away from my daughter at daycare, both of us with tears in our eyes, and wondering: Is this normal? Is this good for her?
I remember staring at a full calendar, dreading another week of deadlines and meetings with people who didn’t truly know me, and thinking of all the missed moments with my children.
I was working full-time, deeply invested in my career, and doing all the right things, but I was exhausted, spread too thin, and overwhelmed by the pace of life, which left little room for them, and I was never fully present.
I couldn’t ignore the pull in my heart any longer.
I longed to be present.
I longed to nurture my family in a deeper way.
I longed to rediscover who I was outside of job titles and productivity.
But I was terrified.
Would it be irresponsible to walk away?
Could we afford it?
Would my identity disappear?
What would people think?
It felt like quitting.
It felt like failure.
And yet—beneath all the fear, it also felt like hope.
Hope for a new beginning.
Hope for healing.
Hope for a life paced with grace, not pressure.
So I did something bold. I started praying for clarity—and talking to my husband. We had honest conversations about what a transition could look like, financially and emotionally. Slowly, we began to imagine a life with more time, more peace, and more purpose at home.
In time, the Lord answered.

Room for More
(aka things I discovered when I finally had space to slow down…)
- I love to cook, and a good recipe is like a free therapy session—with comfort food at the end.
- More time at home means more time for animals. I never expected to care so much for pets, especially since I grew up with a phobia of dogs. But God has softened my heart, and now we find much joy in caring for the little creatures He’s entrusted to us.
- My version of paradise? A beautiful half-acre garden that my husband lovingly built. My contribution? Choosing colors, clipping flowers, and sipping coffee while admiring it all. I may pull a weed from time to time. (Don’t judge—it’s called teamwork.)
Saying Yes
In 2017, I took a leap of faith and stepped away from my job.
At first, it was disorienting. I was used to constant motion, measurable results, and external praise. Suddenly, my days were quiet, and my “success” didn’t look like it used to.
But over time, God met me in the stillness.
I found rest.
I found healing.
And I found more peace and fulfillment than my career ever gave me—because I found Him.
Not in a Sunday morning rush, but in the slow, sacred rhythm of home.
As I began to prioritize time with Him, He transformed everything.
I could finally see that my role as a mother wasn’t small or insignificant.
It wasn’t a detour, an inconvenience, or a waste of my talents.
In fact, it was the most important gift I had been given.
I discovered that home is where I am needed most—and nothing could be of greater influence or importance than shaping the lives and futures of my children and the generations that will follow.
Stewarding my home was not a step back—it was a step deeper into my purpose.
Yes, obedience often looks like sacrifice before it looks like success.
If you’re feeling unsure whether God is calling you home to nurture your family on a deeper level, I want you to know this:
Stepping back or slowing down isn’t a loss—it’s often a step of faith, a sacred pause that draws you deeper into the gifts God has entrusted to you.
Your obedience may not always look like success to the world, but it is precious in His eyes—and you will reap unimaginable blessings from that quiet yes to God.
